Brevard Teachers W/Evangeline Moore at Teacher In-Service Program

Brevard teachers pose with Evangeline Moore, surviving daughter of civil rights martyrs Harry T. & Harriette V. Moore, after attending the September 17th. Teacher In-Service program at the Moore Cultural Center in Mims. The in-service program, sponsored by the Moore Cultural Complex Board of Directors Education Committee, provided ideas and activities designed for teachers to include the history of the Moores civil rights work into social studies and american history lesson plans at the 4th., 5th., 8th. and 10th. grade levels. An award will be presented at the Moore Heritage Festival in March 2008, to the teacher that develops the best lesson plan utilizing the materials presented at the teacher in-service.
